Known as El Divino Morales, the painter Luis de Morales was one of the most original personalities of the Spanish Renaissance, easily recognizable for his particular style. He acquired a great commercial success and his works, of religious content, are part of numerous collections. Leticia Ruiz Gómez, Head of the Department of Spanish Renaissance Painting at the Museo del Prado, offers a careful review of the biography and work of the Divine, with separate essays by Leticia Ruiz herself and Felipe Pereda, specialist from Harvard University. It also includes sixty-one exquisitely reproduced works and an appendix with the technical study of several pieces by the author, a text that sheds light on the artistic process and the materials used in his workshop, as well as another extensive documentary appendix, bibliography and name index.
